Add three more names to Rochester 100 MPH club

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – Three more motorists have been added to Rochester’s 100 mph club.
One is a man from Pine Island, caught driving 113 mph on Highway 52 to Oronoco. A state soldier arrested 19-year-old Riley Gasser around 10 p.m. on May 11.
VISUALLY OBSERVED VEHICLE APPROACHING FROM BEHIND AT HIGH SPEED QUICK CLOSING DISTANCE. SPEED READINGS 113 THEN DROP. THE DRIVER TOLD ME HE Was in no rush to get home. THOUGHT IT WAS “GOING ABOUT 100”.
The other two are from Rochester and received a ticket the same day, May 15.
A soldier arrested 19-year-old Kapi Kuku around 4 a.m. on Highway 52 in Rochester. He received a ticket to drive 118 mph. He was also convicted of violating his teaching permit. He told the soldier he was “just trying to get home”.

Another soldier caught Chapa Valetin, 27 driving 107 mph on Highway 52 in Rochester around 3:00 p.m.
I WAS STOPPED IN THE GRASS BETWEEN SB HWY 52 AND RAMP TO DRIVE SOUTH ON HWY 52 FROM 2ND ST. SW. I was standing outside the car using my lidar to record speeds. I TESTED SAID VEH. DRIVE ON ROUTE 52 NB TOWARD ME AT LL AT VERY HIGH SPEED PASSING RL TRAFFIC. TWO-SPEED READINGS. ONE AT 100 MPH AND THE SECOND AT 107 MPH AT 1160 FEET As it accelerated. AT THE STOP, THE DRIVER TOLD ME HE HAD TO GET THE CAR AND EXCUSED HIMSELF.
More than a dozen motorists have been caught driving at more than 100 mph in the Rochester area since April 1, including one at 121 mph.
