Intercontinental Hotels: The coast with the most – IHG Hotels & Resorts announces the opening of five new establishments on the French coast
IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is expanding its presence in one of its main markets in France, with four new hotel signatures and an exciting opening. Located on France’s charismatic coastline, the collection of five new properties brings three of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ brands to the region for the first time, including Staybridge Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo.
Expansion is a key strategic growth engine for IHG, and new signings in Cannes, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Arachon-La Teste and Marseille further strengthen the company’s presence in continental Europe through several brand collections, including ; Essentials, Premium, Suites and Luxury & Lifestyle.
The first of the new additions recently opened on the shores of the Bassin d’Arcachon, a charming cove on the southwest coast of France. Bringing the Reliable Comfort of Holiday Inn Express to the Area, Holiday Inn Express Arcachon – La Teste provides the ideal base for discovering the many delicacies of this revered region. Many popular sites in the region are located less than 15 minutes from the hotel, including the dune of Pilat, the sunny seaside resort of Pyla-sur-Mer and numerous beaches.
New recruits are expected to open from October 2021, with Hotel Indigo Cagnes-sur-Mer, the first of the set planned to welcome the guests. Showcasing the sleek yet accessible aesthetic of the Indigo Hotel, the new property is inspired by the local neighborhood. Composed of 87 sumptuously designed rooms, including seven elegant suites, this uniquely original hotel brings a warm and lively character to the seaside town of Cagnes-sur-Mer. Guests can explore the gentle shores of the Mediterranean, the historic city center and the many delicacies of elegant Riviera cuisine while enjoying the designer comforts of the Indigo Cagnes-sur-Mer hotel.
Opening scheduled for spring 2022, Holiday Inn Express Ajaccio introduced the brand to the French island of Corsica. Composed of 71 rooms, the new hotel is designed for the modern business traveler but will also appeal to vacationers. Offering contemporary workspaces, free Wi-Fi and free breakfast as standard, Holiday Inn Express Ajaccio caters to the needs of those traveling for business, while looking to enjoy Corsica’s sparkling coastline. The hotel is located close to the seafront and the island’s glamorous port is just 2.6 km from the hotel, providing links to the south of France and Sardinia.
Those looking for a longer stay can enjoy an enhanced home-away-from-home experience when Staybridge Suites Cannes Center opens in mid-2022. With amenities including full kitchens in each suite, dedicated outdoor space, free daily hot breakfast with exclusive offers, Staybridge Suites combine hotel convenience with the feel of a private apartment . The hotel’s many features include a fitness center, swimming pool, and meeting room. The opening will be the brand’s first in France and is located a five-minute walk from the iconic Palais des Festivals de Cannes and the Croisette.
IHG Hotels & Resorts will also expand Crowne Plaza’s presence in the south of France with the opening of Crowne Plaza Marseille Le Dôme. The hotel, which is due to open in 2022, will offer a high-end offer in one of the most picturesque port towns in Europe. Synonymous with elegance and timeless appeal, Marseille is the perfect setting for the new opening of the Crowne Plaza on the sparkling coast of France. Offering an on-site restaurant, 147 guest rooms and leisure facilities, the new hotel is sure to become one of the most sought-after addresses on the continent. The hotel will join the two brands Crowne Plaza Nice-Grand Arenas and Holiday Inn Express Nice – Grand Arenas, which opened in June 2021.
