IHG continues the global rollout of its upscale boutique hotel brand with the launch of a 156-room program near historic Inuyama Castle and the pretty Kiso River.

Hotel Indigo’s rapid expansion shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

A landmark first

The Indigo Inuyama Urakuen Garden Hotel, the first international lifestyle boutique hotel in the Tokai region, has successfully debuted. This newly opened property places guests in the Urakuen Garden, which also serves as the setting for Jo-An’s Teahouse, right next to Inuyama Castle and the Kiso River.

The development merges the brand’s modern hotel offering with inspiration drawn from local history and culture. Pretty footbridges, moreover, lead hotel guests through the green surroundings.

Tsukasa YanagishimaGeneral Manager of Hotel Indigo Inuyama Urakuen Garden, said, “Hotel Indigo is a powerful storyteller and we are constantly thinking of new and exciting ways to contribute to the Inuyama area and the stories we share with our guests at Japan and overseas.

“We are very proud to be able to open Hotel Indigo Inuyama Urakuen Garden, a place with such wonderful history, culture and human warmth. As a member of the community, we will do our best to contribute to the development of Inuyama City and surrounding areas, and thank the community for their support in opening this beautiful hotel.

A reflection of its environment

Hotel Indigo Urakuen Garden’s design embodies its location through the decor of each of the 156 guest rooms, which feature mountain-motif murals depicting the area’s landscape.

In addition to the experience, the hotel’s restaurant and bar focus on the flavors of Inuyama. Seasonal produce and local specialties are showcased at Indigo Home Kitchen Yamateras, with stories from the neighborhood also inspiring the mixed cocktails here. And Bar Yoyama draws inspiration from the city’s festival culture with its creative design.

A defining feature of this hotel is the inclusion of the area’s only traditional hot spring, Inuyama Onsen Hakutei no Yu. technology.

Meanwhile, meetings and events can be held in the hotel’s Hibiki room. Floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of this property’s position in these seasonally changing gardens, and design elements are drawn from the landscape, the Inuyama Festival, and the ripples of the Kiso River.
