Lorraine Hall: The Cleaning Company

Lorraine Hall is Director of The Cleaning Corporation, Breaffy, Castlebar – a husband and wife business and a thriving cleaning business since 1995.
âAccreditation of the training and continuous development of all of our staff, supervisors and management, coupled with service improvements and operating procedures with a full service guarantee, means that we let’s continue to lead the way in our industry, in all aspects of our cleaning services, âsaid Lorraine.
âThe company is on call seven days a week. Working from home is the new normal for people after the arrival of Covid 19 – but for me, working from home is normal – although since 2007 we have been operating in from a purpose built office and stores that help maintain the discipline you need to have when working from home. When working from a home office you need to be disciplined and try to work hourly standard office, and also close for lunch, âshe added.
âHowever, with Covid-19 still very much at the forefront, the business is busy, and the business comes first and we love our work; we have a great staff of over 70 people, and that allows us to be where we are. Although we are at home working has become the new normal for many, I have been doing it for over 20 years, so it is my normal and has been for a long time. We have invested a lot in recent years in Training, particularly in Health & Safety and also in compliance, including Covid-19 & Coronavirus training for all our staff.
âThe company has experienced an unprecedented demand for services to comply with return to work protocols, education protocols and government roadmaps published and updated over the past 18 months. As a small business, we have also enlisted the excellent services of local health contractors. & Safety, for HR and a local answering service when needed – allowing us to focus on our business, this means that day-to-day tasks in specialist areas of HR & H&S are handled specifically and leave us more time for the business; and it was a good decision for us.
âIt’s a different world we find ourselves in now; where the emphasis is on hygiene and health and not just on aesthetics, this has brought about a change in mentality for many; and that’s a change for good.
âCleaning and providing a safe working environment has been at the top of the list for facility managers and the importance of providing a safe environment for staff, customers, students, visitors, etc. and sticking to protocols and also a common sense, that is knowledge and science based approach is very important to getting it right, everything we do makes a difference and helps reduce risk to people.
âWe also try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Not many people know that for almost 15 years we have been using reclaimed rainwater that is purified by a reverse osmosis system for all of our cleanings. of carpets and upholstery and window cleaning, this really helps reduce our use of detergents and reduce our carbon footprint, which we are very keen to continue to develop.
âThe services we provide include: (1) commercial contract cleaning, (2) commercial contract window cleaning, (3) carpet and upholstery cleaning, (4) specialized cleaning service carpet, (5) floor maintenance and renovation, (6) janitorial supplies and (7) technical assistance and advice, including design advice.
