LEBANON, Missouri, September 25, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – With the successful conclusion of the Muscle Car Madness auction, fans of European automakers and classic racing are in turmoil. The Nobles’ Family Auto Museum showcased flagship models from manufacturers that do not need to be showcased. Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, Rolls Royce and more abound in Sonicbidder.com’s Auto Exotix auction, which runs Wednesday, September 29 at 10:30 a.m. CST. The star of the auction, however, was the 1960 Scarab Formula 1, one of two raced and one of three produced worldwide.

The success of the small American Scarab teams taking on the best European constructors with their own well-designed models was a sight to behold in its time. This Scarab in particular was a tribute to the imagination and determination of Lance Reventlow and his talented team from Venice, California. Its desmodromic double overhead cam, four-cylinder engine is perhaps the greatest development of an American racing tradition. Even the great Stirling Moss couldn’t resist Reventlow’s invitation to drive his rival’s Scarab in their race to Monaco. After Chuck Daigh’s serious accident, the remains of the GP-2 were shipped to Southern California. The engine that powered the Scarab in its first 1960 season was acquired with various plans and documents. With this, the team concluded that they have now gathered all the parts of the runner that have survived. In fact, the subsequent work was done with the guidance of Chuck Daigh himself. Numerous written documents document the restoration.

Beetles have become more sought after than ever. The remaining two cars are kept in the most coveted racing collections. Auto Exotix’s other star cars include a very rare 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB and a 1980 BMW M1. Possession of one of these cars will guarantee invitations to prestigious racing events, contests and shows. They are truly unique models. These jewels have been kept in pristine condition and are full of incredible production / racing stories. For more details on the Scarab F1, Ferrari 275 GTB or BMW M1, visit Sonicbidder.com press articles.

Your chance to own this historic racer arrives when Sonicbidder.com’s Auto Exotix auction goes live on Wednesday, September 29 at 10:30 am CST. For more information, be sure to call Sonicbidder.com at (877) 824-3337 or message us at [email protected]
